Liberation Yoga was founded in 2008 by Adrea and David Robles and was the culmination of their dream to create a sacred space and a community of like-minded people. Liberation has since expanded to include a range of talented teachers, massage therapists and others, allowing us to offer a range of services and specialties.

Meet the friendly faces of Liberation below!

  • Adrea Robles, LMT, E-RYT, YACEP, Reiki Master/Teacher

For the past 18 years, Adrea has been using her hands to help people release tension and other blockages from their bodies, re-establishing the healthy flow of energy through massage therapy and reiki. Her upbeat yoga classes are designed to stimulate the mind, challenge the body, and reconnect you to your spirit. As a reiki master teacher, she not only awakens the healer within her students, but provides a firm foundation in the theory and practice of energetic healing, something she also brings to Liberation's yoga teacher training program. Adrea is the co-founder of Liberation Yoga & Wellness with her husband Dave and is proud to offer a sacred space and community for like-minded people to gather and grow. Beyond her work in healing and yoga, Adrea is a creative artist, producing beautiful malas, mandalas, paintings, and jewelry, many examples of which can be found around the studio.
  • David Robles, E-RYT

Co-founder with his wife Adrea, David brings his life-long interest in philosophy, psychology and spirituality to every class. His classes take a holistic approach, and are designed to engage not only the body, but the mind and spirit. Students should expect to learn solid alignment, have an accessible and challenging class, and engage with new ideas every time. David is a strong proponent of life-long learning and has recently graduated from Fordham University in Counseling and Pastoral Care and is working as a therapist in the area.

Adrienne empowers her students to listen to their bodies, be in the moment and use their breath awareness to have a safe, fun and rejuvenating practice.
  • Allie Kaye Dakers, RYT

Allie began her Yoga journey as many do -- looking for a road that would lead to more balance and joy throughout her life. She discovered Liberation Yoga and Wellness Center in 2014 and delved into a newfound practice that brought both ease and strength to her mind, body and spirit. Allie has always been engaged in teaching and learning in one form or another. As a special education and theatre teacher, she has worked the past 15 years helping her students to build stronger connections to themselves, each other, and to the world in which we live. For Allie, it was a natural progression for her to take her Yoga practice to the next level, both personally and professionally, completing her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification with Liberation in 2018. Through helping others cultivate a yoga practice of their own, Allie is excited to share with her students the perspective, peace, and inner strength that can be discovered along the way. Furthermore, Allie has embraced the energetic healing art of Reiki, and shares this beautiful healing modality with others as a certified Reiki Master Practitioner. Her classes are light-hearted, spiritual, and offer challenges and opportunities for growth, both on and off the mat. Allie is happy to announce an in-person class starting in August at Putnam Yoga. She hopes to see you Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm.

  • Chistian Abril, RYT

My name is Christian A. I am the one who was born and raised in Cuenca Ecuador, originally from a small village at the bottom of the Andes Mountains where the land is called “La Pachamama”, which means Mother Earth. A sense of wonder, exploration, and adventure in my teenage years led me to NY, perhaps in search of the “American dream” not knowing it would lead me in search of my own true human nature. Here I am now a resident of the world, without nationality, ethnicity, or religion. I’m the one who’s simply devoted to life. I’m the one who’s heart is opened to share and receive the magic of The Yoga sciences; open to any possibilities that help us unfold our unique truth by raising the Kundalini energy, awakening the genius within. Yoga is more than what you practice on your mat. Yoga is realizing that being human is super. Christian can be found teaching an in-person class on Thursdays at 6:30pm at Putnam Yoga.
  • Fallon Plunkett, RYT

Fallon discovered the physical practice of yoga when she was pregnant. She was looking for something that would work with her growing body and keep her grounded. The mindful movements, focus on breathing, and calming atmosphere kept her coming back. She thinks of each yoga practice as an opportunity to journey inwards; weaving together the physical, mental and spiritual self. This is accomplished through attention to alignment, breathing cues and a thoughtful focus in each class. She encourages her students to make each practice their own; focusing on their needs. Furthermore smiles, laughter and giggles are always welcome in her classes!

Julie’s yoga journey started in 2009, after her chemotherapy treatment. She started Yoga hoping to regain muscle tone and balance but gained so much more. Now as a Registered Nurse and Yogi, body awareness, health, and wellness are a way of life. Julie’s classes offer safe alignment, exploration, and fun! She graduated from Liberation School of Yoga in 2014 and it remains one of the best decisions she's ever made.

She cultivates a practice of surrender, gratitude, humor and appreciation for the present moment. Kaelyn loves the idea that within each practice yoga brings you closer to your center, guides you to a smile on your face and lightness back in your eyes that can be carried with you throughout your day.
